Trevor McAleese
Trevor McAleese is a lifelong resident of the Okanagan, with his family making the move from Vancouver to Westbank in 1990 when he was a young child. Trevor has built a career as an independent video game developer working with Canadian and international studios of all sizes from 2010 onward. While his academic background is in business, having graduated in 2009 with a co-conferred degree in Business Admin from Okanagan College and UBC Okanagan, Trevor has worked in restaurant kitchens, in packing houses, and as an educator himself at his alma mater Okanagan College where he developed and taught technology-based day camps for children aged 6-12.
With direct experience in many of Kelowna's key industries, Trevor has hard-earned, firsthand insight into this community's unique challenges and opportunities. As owner and operator of his own video game studio, Trevor recognizes the importance of technological innovation and sees enormous potential in Kelowna as a hub for entertainment media production.
Drawing upon his lived experience in the local agriculture and tech sectors, Trevor's vision for Kelowna is one of homegrown, innovative, and sustainable industry fuelled by the world-class talent and spirit of the Okanagan's people. With environmental stewardship as a key tenet of his guiding philosophy, it's Trevor's dream to bring lasting economic prosperity to Kelowna and to ensure that this city's youth not only have local careers in the world's most exciting industries but a livable world in which to pursue them.
